About Evacuation Leaders Distance Learning

A fire can occur suddenly and have devastating consequences. Having trained evacuation leaders on site is therefore crucial to evacuate staff and visitors quickly and safely. This course gives you the tools to act in a structured, calm and efficient way in an emergency.

Target group and purpose

The course is aimed at those who are part of the company's evacuation organization or are responsible for leading evacuations in case of fire or other danger. The training is especially adapted for people who will act as evacuation leaders, coordinators or have reporting responsibility to the fire protection officer. You will gain insight into current laws and regulations, as well as an understanding of human behavior in case of fire and how to best handle different scenarios.

Training objectives

• Be able to assume the role of evacuation leader and act methodically in an emergency
• Contribute to a high level of fire protection in the workplace through prevention
• Have knowledge of fire protection organization, responsibilities and evacuation strategies
• Know how to inform and guide staff before, during and after an incident

• Company evacuation organization - responsibilities and roles
• Tasks and powers of the evacuation leader
• Fire risks: who is affected and how is your business affected
• Damage prevention and mitigation measures
• Laws, regulations and regulatory requirements (e.g. LSO, AFS)
• Evacuation routes and responsibilities
• Methodology for effective evacuation - communication and coordination
• Human behavior in fire and influencing factors
