According to the requirements of the insurance companies, hot work means work that can cause heating or sparks. This includes welding, cutting, soldering, grinding with a wheel, drying, heating and other similar work.

Time allocation
The course lasts 6 hours, not including breaks and lunch
The course is aimed at policyholders, property and premises managers and contractors carrying out hot work.
Course structure
The training consists of theoretical and practical components and follows the Swedish Fire Protection Association’s regulations for hot work. The course is held in person in Brottby, Stockholm, or remotely via Microsoft Teams if you have booked the remote course.
Practical part
The practical component takes place in Stockholm, Gothenburg (or at a location of your choice for a customized corporate course).
If you choose to take the distance learning course, the practical component will be scheduled after the theoretical course.
Course Content: Hot Work
- Introduction to hot work and insurance requirements
- Fire knowledge: the fire triangle, fire progression and spread routes
- Hazardous environments in different working environments (construction, industry, real estate, etc.)
- Safety rules for hot work and their practical application
- Review of laws, regulations and insurance conditions
- Division of responsibilities between client, contractor, contractor, fire warden and licensee
- Authorization and control list: how it is used in practice
- Fire and damage prevention
- Common causes of accidents in hot work
Upon completion of the training, participants should be able to:
- Understand and apply the safety rules for hot work
- Know the theory of fire and the reasons why fires start and spread
- Identify risk environments in their own work environment
- Take preventive measures to minimize fire and injury risks
- Have knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations in the field
- Understand responsibilities related to hot work, insurance conditions and contracting agreements
- Correctly use their equipment and know the different types of extinguishing equipment, alarms and escape routes
Certificate
After completing the course and passing the knowledge test in a digital environment, the Swedish Fire Protection Association issues the Hot Work certificate. The certificate gives authorization to be responsible for, monitor and perform hot work yourself.
