Working in environments where there is a risk of silica dust or asbestos poses serious health risks. Long-term exposure can lead to diseases such as silicosis, COPD and lung cancer, and employers therefore have a clear responsibility under the Work Environment Act and the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations to protect their employees. The course is based on AFS 2015:2 but also covers the latest regulations in AFS 2023:10 - Risks in the work environment, which sets out requirements for risk assessment, measures and training when working with dusty materials. It also addresses AFS 2023:3 - Medical checks in the workplace, which requires regular health checks for people at risk of exposure, and AFS 2023:1 - Systematic work environment management (SAM), which sets out requirements for the employer's responsibility to organize and monitor work environment management.
