ATEX Grund e-learning – Arbete i Explosionsfarlig Miljö
Working in potentially explosive environments places high demands on knowledge and safety. With our web-based ATEX Basic Course, you get the right skills to work safely in ATEX-classified areas - completely remotely, when it suits you. The course is developed based on the regulations that govern both the work environment and equipment: the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, the User Directive 1999/92/EC, and Swedish regulations such as AFS 2023: 10 and SRVFS 2004: 7.
You will learn what applies to installation, operation and maintenance in environments where explosive atmospheres can occur. The course is particularly suitable for those who work in industry, energy, process, electrical installation or maintenance - whether you are a technician, electrician, supervisor or safety representative. After completing the course, you will receive a diploma/certificate confirming that you meet the requirements for documented competence.
Legal and regulatory training requirements
Spending time or working in areas where explosive atmospheres may occur involves major risks - and places clear requirements on documented competence. According to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulation AFS 2023:10 "Work in potentially explosive atmospheres", anyone staying or working in a potentially explosive atmosphere must have training in explosion risks and protective measures. This applies not only to permanent staff, but also to contractors and temporary visitors.
In addition, the training requirement is supported by several other regulations:
-
The User Directive 1999/92/EC, which requires employers to inform and train their staff about explosion risks.
-
SRVFS 2004:7, which requires documented classification and safe handling of flammable substances.
-
ELSÄK-FS 2016:2, which requires that anyone handling or installing electrical equipment in a potentially explosive environment has the relevant competence.
