2. education, experience and skills requirements
2.1 Education To become a certified or approved construction inspector, the applicant shall have relevant technical training according to one of the options below:
(a) passed the engineering examination
(b) a technical college degree, technical education at secondary level, higher vocational education or higher education. All with a minimum of two years of education
c) inspectors without relevant training can obtain a certificate if they can provide evidence of at least 10 years of qualified experience in work deemed to be in the relevant field.
All training must be supported by copies of certificates.

2.2 Work experience The applicant must provide evidence of practical experience of at least: - five years, if training is available in accordance with chapter 2.1 alternative a) - seven years, if training is available in accordance with chapter 2.1 alternative b) - ten years if no training is available The work tasks must have been in one of the construction, civil engineering or installation sectors. Meritorious roles are, for example, work with design, project management, work management or inspection. For certification, the applicant must also have extensive experience of construction site inspections corresponding to at least 300 hours or 20 projects over the past two years. One project corresponds to an inspection time of about 8 hours plus preparation and follow-up work.
