The training covers the knowledge areas below according to the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority's regulations ELSÄK-FS 2017:4

1.1 Electrical installations in buildings
1.2 Installations for the production and transmission of electricity and
industrial installations

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites, but it is advantageous to have an upper secondary education from the electrical program or similar such as BB1 or an older education in electricity and telecommunications. If you have long practical experience as an electrician, this can in some cases compensate for a lack of newer theoretical knowledge. When you apply for Authorization AL at the Electrical Safety Authority, knowledge requirements also apply to the practical part you receive from us after you have completed the theoretical training.

How does the training for El Authorization AL - General Authorization work?

  • E-learning: The theory is completed online via our e-learning platform. The digital platform allows you to study at your own pace, providing maximum flexibility. You can pause and resume the training at your convenience. The sections are pre-recorded and after each part there will be sub-questions and the training ends with a major final test.
  • Practical day included in the training: To ensure you gain the practical experience required by the Electrical Safety Authority, a day of practical on-site training is included. During this day you will put theory into practice, under the guidance of experienced instructors. The practical part prepares you for the practical requirements for obtaining authorization.

Work carried out in another EEA country

If you have a Swedish qualification, you can gain all your practical experience in another EEA country or in Switzerland and still be eligible to apply for authorization in Sweden. However, if you have a qualification from another EEA country or Switzerland, you must gain at least half of your practical experience in Sweden. For companies operating abroad, this means that work done outside Sweden can also be counted when an employee applies for authorization.

  • Performing work on residential, commercial properties and small industrial systems.

Training consists of fully pre-recorded material that you can go through, pause and continue at your own pace at your convenience. Participants can pause, rewind and repeat the material at their own pace, allowing them to absorb the knowledge without stress. With the use of subtitles and the flexibility to adapt learning to individual needs, we ensure inclusive training that is accessible to all.

AL authorization covers all electrical installation work on low voltage installations. Low voltage means a nominal voltage up to and including 1 000 volts alternating current (AC) and up to and including 1 500 volts direct current (DC).
