Certification requirements are placed on you as a contractor or consultant who will, among other things, manage and lead a team of personnel in stage 2 and carry out work preparation, site supervision, construction management or delivery supervision in the area of health and safety.

Work on the road 1.1-1.3

 

The training explains the laws and regulations for people who carry out road works and how to apply them to different works. You will also gain an understanding of the risks involved in roadworks and how they can be prevented to make you a safe worker. This course takes place online and gives you as a participant a certificate/course certificate after successful completion. The certificate is stored with us which you can also save or print out yourself.

 

Target group

This course is aimed at contractors and suppliers, including those who work on roads, whether in construction, service, maintenance or operations. For example, if you work in or on site servicing or are a road worker who operates your own road maintenance vehicle, this course is for you.

Work on the road 2.1

Drivers of road maintenance vehicles performing the following work must pass the Swedish Transport Administration's certification test:

  • Anyone driving a road maintenance vehicle equipped with an energy absorbing protective device (TMA, mounted on or towed by a vehicle).
  • Anyone who drives a road maintenance vehicle, where the vehicle is actively used in intermittent work on protection classified roads. The requirement applies even if the vehicle has no intermittent markings. The requirement does not apply to drivers of vehicles visiting the workplace temporarily and briefly, for example, to deliver goods/materials or transport staff.

Drivers of road maintenance vehicles with certification requirements must have the following skills:

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the requirements outlined in step 1.
  • Know how to handle energy absorbing protective devices, their installation, their operating mode and how to use them.
  • Know how to use device X5 Yellow light arrow or arrows.
  • Know how to position vehicles with energy absorbing protective devices on the road surface, in order to achieve a good working environment and safety for road users.
  • Be able to communicate in Swedish and with other drivers of road maintenance vehicles included in the current execution.

The certificate is valid for 4 years.

For those who carry out work where the Transport Agency is the client, there is a requirement for a certification test at the Transport Agency for stage 2.1 and upwards

Work on the road 2.2 / APV 2.2

Competence requirements for certain persons carrying out work on traffic and safety devices and traffic management (formerly level 3A & 3B marking officers)

Course description

After the training, the participants should have good knowledge and understanding of how to act to obtain a good working environment and road safety. The training is based on the Swedish Transport Agency's competence plan for stage 2.2. You can take this web-based course at your own pace, when it suits you, which also means that you can pause, go back and redo parts of the course.

Certified person in step 2.2 may:

  • Installing, maintaining and installing ground-mounted traffic and safety devices necessary to ensure a good working environment, good safety and acceptable accessibility for road users on all types of roads.
  • Carrying out all aspects of traffic management.

Personnel responsible for the following work must pass the Trafikverket certification test:

  • Performs the practical work of installing, maintaining and removing ground-mounted traffic and safety devices at a fixed work site.
  • Carries out the practical work of installing, maintaining and removing ground-mounted traffic and safety devices necessary for traffic routing. For example, operating traffic signals.
  • Ensure that vehicles carrying out mobile, intermittent or intermittent marking work are properly equipped for the work in question.
  • Personnel who lead and instruct assistants with level 1 competence with the practical handling of traffic and safety devices or those who perform traffic direction, such as watchmen and pilots.

Personnel with certification requirements must have the following skills:

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the requirements outlined in step 1.
  • Be able to apply the applicable regulatory requirements (TrF, VMF, AML, VägL and so on).
  • Be able to apply the Transport Administration's rules for traffic and safety devices and traffic routing.
  • Understand the function and limitations of energy absorbing protective devices and be able to carry out installation in accordance with the protective device's installation instructions.
  • Be able to communicate in Swedish.
  • Be able to carry out daily supervision and self-inspection, and be able to document the inspection and control carried out.
  • Be able to lead and instruct staff with Stage 1 competence.
  • Be able to apply the current work environment plan, work preparation, or drawing showing how traffic and safety devices should be placed.
  • Be able to apply how traffic and safety devices are deployed to achieve a good working environment, good safety and acceptable accessibility for road users.

The certificate is valid for 4 years

Competency and certification requirements for certain roles in managing and directing construction and design services.

The competence requirement is directed to both design and construction assignments. Personnel appointed by the contractor or consultant must complete certification tests for the following tasks:

  • Manage and lead teams of staff in stage 2, carry out work preparations and more.
  • Address the needs of road users during design, construction and future maintenance.
  • Carry out site monitoring, construction management or delivery monitoring in the APV area.
  • Responds for current traffic information.
