Competence requirements for certain persons performing work on traffic and safety devices and traffic management (formerly level 3A & 3B)

 

  • This online training is a self-study course that can be done at your own pace at any time.

 

Certified person in step 2.2 may:

  • Installing, maintaining and installing ground-mounted traffic and safety devices necessary to ensure a good working environment, good safety and acceptable accessibility for road users on all types of roads.
  • Carrying out all aspects of traffic management.

 

Personnel responsible for the following work must pass the Trafikverket certification test:

  • Performs the practical work of installing, maintaining and removing ground-mounted traffic and safety devices at a fixed work site.
  • Carries out the practical work of installing, maintaining and removing ground-mounted traffic and safety devices necessary for traffic routing. For example, operating traffic signals.
  • Ensure that vehicles carrying out mobile, intermittent or intermittent marking work are properly equipped for the work in question.
  • Personnel who lead and instruct assistants with level 1 competence with the practical handling of traffic and safety devices or those who perform traffic direction, such as watchmen and pilots.

Personnel with certification requirements must have the following skills:

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the requirements outlined in step 1.
  • Be able to apply the applicable regulatory requirements (TrF, VMF, AML, VägL and so on).
  • Be able to apply the Transport Administration's rules for traffic and safety devices and traffic routing.
  • Understand the function and limitations of energy absorbing protective devices and be able to carry out installation in accordance with the protective device's installation instructions.
  • Be able to communicate in Swedish.
  • Be able to carry out daily supervision and self-inspection, and be able to document the inspection and control carried out.
  • Be able to lead and instruct staff with Stage 1 competence.
  • Be able to apply the current work environment plan, work preparation, or drawing showing how traffic and safety devices should be placed.
  • Be able to apply how traffic and safety devices are deployed to achieve a good working environment, good safety and acceptable accessibility for road users.

The certificate is valid for 4 years

  • You can book the certification tests in Road Work and Winter Road Maintenance in person via the Driver Exam website.
    Logging in is done using a mobile BankID and it is required that you have a valid ID06 card registered with Trafikverket (see point 2) at the time of booking.
  • In order to receive the results/invoice, you need to register an e-mail address. You can do this under "My Details".

  • You can choose any office and any free time from the regular hours of Driver Testing.
  • A test fee will be charged by the traffic authority.
  • Payment is made by card (called "Pay now") or by invoice (called "Pay later").
  • Receipts can be obtained from the Driver Examination Customer Service or on site outside the test room after you have written the test.
