The theoretical part of forklift training can easily be completed from home and meets the curriculum requirements in Sweden.
According to AFS 2006:5 §18, both theoretical and practical knowledge are required, meaning the theoretical part must be complemented by a practical part. Forklift License A
The forklifts in the A category are suitable for handling goods at lower levels. They are typically used for loading and unloading trucks and for moving pallets at low heights from one place to another.
– A1 forklift – Low-lift order picker
– A2 forklift – Pedestrian stacker, with or without a platform
– A3 forklift – Low-lift rider truck, standing or sitting
– A4 forklift – Low-lift pallet truck, with or without a platform
### Forklift License B
The forklifts in the B category are more suitable for lifting heavier loads and at higher heights. With authorization for a counterbalance truck (B1), there is no upper limit on how heavy the load can be. Before 2011, training for C1 (counterbalance truck over 10 tons) was required to lift more than 10 tons, but today the old C1 authorization is included in the B1 certification instead.
